This tool creates a wiki page where users can freely edit each others posts. Instructors who are interested in building engaging online learning environments will appreciate wikis as another way to foster collaborative learning and greater peer-to-peer and student-to-faculty communication.
From within the course where you want to create a wiki, click the Add Content link. Click on the Wiki link. Under the Content tab, at least enter a Title. Click Save when you are done.
When you enter the wiki for the first time, you will see the message The entry 'Welcome' doesn't yet exist. Double-click to create it. Double click on that message. Fill in any fields. If you place your mouse in the text area, you will then see a menu at the top right which will allow you to Save this new wiki. Once saved, the creator can use a menu to edit and close wiki windows. Anyone can edit wiki content.
To the right is a list of entries that have been made. You can click on an item in the list to view that window if it is not displayed.
In the toolbar along the top are tools to create a new entry or search. The start link takes you to the Welcome page for the wiki.
