You may have noticed the HTML Editor when editing the settings for an ANGEL item. This editor appears under the Page Text area of most ANGEL items. Examples would be the Page, Drop Box, and Folder items.
Note: the HTML editor works in Windows and Macintosh operating systems using Internet Explorer 6, Netscape 7.1 and Mozilla 1.4.
- While viewing the Settings for an ANGEL Item, locate the HTML Editor under the Page Text area.
- It looks like a word processor.
And, you will find it behaves much like a word processor too. Below is a
list of features the HTML Editor is capable of:
- Heading and paragraph sizing
- Font type and sizing
- Cut, copy, and paste
- Bold, Italic, and underline
- Type color and highlighting
- Left, center, and right alignment
- Numbered and bulleted lists
- Insert equations
- Insert tables and forms
- Decrease and increase indentation
- Insert web links and images
– Spelling check
– HTML codingAt this point you may have noticed that this set of features is limited. The reason for this is we are using this tool to format pages for the web, there are restrictions on the extent of the formatting you can provide for a web page. In order to keep pages from loading slowly, web pages need to keep their formatting simple. If we overload the page with formatting, then your pages will load slowly for your learners. Learning to work within the constraints of the HTML Editor, you will find it much easier to create and edit pages properly formatted pages within ANGEL.
One more bit of advice before we move on to saving the page. You can copy content from your word processor document into the HTML Editor window. Copying and pasting content from one window to another is a very handy technique in getting your documents into ANGEL page items. Use the buttons to choose to Paste as smart text, Paste as plain text (no formatting) or Paste from Word. To paste HTML code, click the Source button first.
- Scroll to the bottom of this page and click Save in order for your changes to be saved in ANGEL.
