The User Preview Tool allows you to view the course as a user with different access rights. It is very useful in simulating what users of various rights levels will see when they visit your course. To view the course as a student would see it, use the glasses icon found along the top toolbar next to the user name. Select the settings you want to use and click the Continue button.
After you click the eyeglasses icon, use the radio buttons to select the rights level you want to use. Click the Continue button. You can now view your course as a member, course content editor, guest, etc. You can also choose to view the course as a specific team member. You can check that the Viewable By settings of your course let the right IDs in and keep unauthorized IDs out.
Click the eyeglasses again to regain your original status.
Note: it can be slightly confusing if you are the course administrator. Even if you switch your view to become a member, you can still do things like take a quiz multiple times. It is not an accurate reflection of what the student faces, but it mimics the view somewhat. To accurately view what a student would see, it is best to create an ANGEL ID with student rights and use that to review your materials.
